“We all know it’s time to jettison secretive parking companies who withhold vital operating information and pay pennies on the dollar.

On Today’s Power Lunch special, Epik.com Founder and Chairman Rob Monster shows us how to transform dormant domains into revenue generating powerhouses through complete traffic and revenue transparency and 50/50 revenue share.

50/50 revenue share with complete transparency?
You don’t want to miss this!

IceCreamMaker.com, just one of the thousands of domains on the Epik.com platform, and it’s already making 4-figures a month net. It’s a well-thought out design that converts visitors into buyers. Cha-ching, my friends!

Kenny Hartog tested the platform and became so convinced he now has more than 500 Epik-powered sites with steadily increasing monthly revenues.

Money Talks, and so does Rob.
Rob Monster will be taking your questions LIVE! He’ll also give us very in-depth insight into what they have learned from years of testing and development from develop websites that rank, convert and generate revenue! Whether you have product, directory or reference domains, Epik has some pretty impressive development solutions.

…and Bullshit Walks
Other people have come and gone with the empty promise of an alternative to domain parking. However, when we’ve asked others to come on and show us the money, they refuse because they can’t prove their concepts. Epik.com stands apart.

When I re-launched DomainSuccess.com over 20 months ago and featured Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds and his success AmericanFlags.com, like most of you, I was frustrated with lack of sales demand for my domains and parking revenues. My goal was to help Domainers make the leap into development by learning from pros who have done it so to inspire you to believe that you can do it too.

40 shows later, here’s an action plan to open your own AmericanFlags.com, even for those who don’t know how to do it.”

If you haven’t checked Fiverr.com — you’re missing out. It’s simply amazing to see what people are willing to do for $5 – And that’s the whole concept.

You can list your gig or book one.

The entire system is administered through Paypal and Fiverr’s internal emails – Simple. Brilliant.

At the time I’m writing this post, they have an Alexa ranking of 2,750 and they are just in Beta.

It’s refreshing to see good concepts pop out of nowhere and hit it big. Kudos.

What’s worth noting is that they didn’t buy an expensive domain name to get the ball rolling.

They probably registered it for $10 and let the idea build the brand.

So if you haven’t booked your first fiverr, here are some valuable tips for you:

*I’m not sure if there is a proper Fiverr’ tiquette… but here is what I gathered so far.

There are 2 types of gigs – The simple $5 tasks that people will do all day long for $5

For example:

” For a Fiverr, I’ll sing Marilyn Monroe’s Happy Birthday Mr. President song for $5″
” For a Fiverr, I’ll joing your Facebook Fanpage and invite my friends”

These are simple one-time tasks that are easily repeated or automated.

On the other hand, You have professionals that are putting their name out there to bring in business.

We had a press release written by “Literatrue” – Link and I must say that I was impressed.

Not only was the turnaround instant – the release was top notch.

So obviously we found a quality provider and are coming back for more. Of course that’s the end of the Fiverr but hopefully the start of a working relationship.

We’ve booked all kind of gigs so far: Voice over for videos, PSD to html editing, Press release, Product Cover Designs – even stress test on servers…

What I think is the coolest thing is when you need someone to do a quick task and you can’t get a hold of your regular designer or programmer.

I’ve gotten a lot of last minute tweaks done on a Fiverr. What’s funny is that you may stumble upon a great designer that will tweak that graphic but you’ll never be able to get in touch with him ever again…

To that effect – there is an interesting time factor playing on Fiverr. Some providers are extremely busy so be sure when you book a gig with them to have your ducks in a row.
Other providers are a bit on the flaky side – But I can see that happening on the buyer side as well.

You booked a gig but you’re busy so you don’t get to tasking it out right away. The provider can decide to cancel the job.

Fiverr.com collects $5 via Paypal – When a job is completed, the buyer has to simply review and ok – Once done, the provider gets $4 after Fiverr.com takes it’s cut.

So don’t waste any time – Get to Fiverr.com and join the fun.

I actually could think of more reasons why not to use Godaddy.com but let’s start with this:

1. Absolutely clueless about spam

Now don’t get me wrong. I hate spam as much as anyone but I also happen to manage large email lists.

One particular list had over 150K subscribers. These were all buyers mind you that completed a purchase with a credit card over a 2 year time span. We had 1 spam complaint from 150,000 emails and here is what Godaddy threatened us with:

“We present to you the following solution to resolve this issue:

First, reply to abuse@godaddy.com with a statement that you (or your employees, affiliates, 3rd party marketers, etc.) will no longer send messages to individuals that did not ask to receive information specifically from your domain name.

Second, include in this statement authorization for GoDaddy.com to charge a $199 non-refundable administration fee to the credit card on file for your account (you may want to log into your Go Daddy account and confirm that the card on file is valid and has not expired).”

$199 non-refundable admin fee? Come on Bob – you can do better then that.

Needless to say, we immediately moved that domain to Namecheap.com who forwarded a few complaints over the years but understood how/why with 150K subscribers, 1 spam complaint is no reason to kick us out or try to charge us $200 Buckaroos…

Apparently I’m not the only one who had that issue. In his Butterfly Marketing course, the famed online marketer Mike Filsaime also strictly recommends to stay away from Godaddy.com like the plague. Go Mike. If you haven’t hear of Mike Filsaime yet, where have you been? Check him out here.

2. Godaddy Expiration Period

When a domain expires, you have a 60 days redemption period. If you happen to renew during that period, Godaddy.com allows you to renew that domain. It’s conveniently put in the “Recover Expired Domains”.

Now what your Godaddy rep will tell you is that there is a minimum of $19.99 per domain up to $80 per name depending at which point you redeem the name. This number happens to be negotiable. We’ve renewed and spent hundreds of dollars getting those names reactivated. The “Negotiable” should have been a warning to investigate further. Come to find out, you can simply transfer your domain to let’s say Namecheap.com and only pay the annual renewal fees. No BS courtesy recovery fee for those expired domains. What a rip off! What’s most aggravating is that at the $80 fee we let some names go that didn’t warrant the expense while we could have simply moved registrar for $7 a name…

Now guided by a dedicated account rep with whom you’ve worked for years and you have a quite a stench left in your mouth.

3. Grab, Hold, Stall, Stalk…

Well if Bob Parson’s lets an old girlfriend go like a domain, he might get cited for stalking her.
To add insult to injury as you’re trying to pull your names away to the new registrar, instead of conveniently letting you batch the process, Godaddy.com makes you unlock all the names (that you can do at once) but then request the EPP code to transfer your name to be done one by one… Nice… Add a 5 day transfer period. As a matter of fact Godaddy is the only registrar that locks your domain down anytime a change is made. STALKER…

4. SLOW

Yeah they did build quite a nice interface and you have to give it to them. They mastered the pushy upsells like no one else business. But all that flashiness makes it sluggish… Let’s face it there are more interesting sites to browse then the Godaddy.com admin, for real.

If you’re still convinced that Godaddy.com is the perfect registrar for you, I’ll be adding my affiliate link shortly so I can make a buck from your decision.

I do recommend Namecheap.com – I have been using them for a while. The rates are competitive. And when I started using them they were so behind the 8 ball that they had no way but up. They’ve improved, the interface is basic, loads fast, allows bulk editing on the fly and transfers without restrictions. They give you the Nameguard for free for the 1st year and throw along a SSL Cert so it’s a great value.

If you have rants or praises about Godaddy.com or Namecheap for that matter, please share the wealth.

I hope this post was informative and will guide you in the right direction when choosing your domain name registrar.

I will be testing the Godaddy auctions soon and update this post as well.
